International Symposium
SPONTANEOUS INTRACRANIAL HYPOTENSION AND CSF DYNAMICS
An international meeting dedicated to advancing the diagnosis and treatment of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) pressure disorders, bringing together leading experts in neurology, neuroradioloy, neurosurgery, neurointervention and pain medicine. Organized within the framework of the CSF Hemodynamic Disorders Program, the symposium aims to promote multidisciplinary collaboration an the development of international clinical and research networks focused on CSF disorders.
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the International Symposium on Spontaneous Intracranial Hypotension and CSF Dynamics, which will take place in Madrid on April 23–24, 2026.
Over the past decade, disorders of cerebrospinal fluid pressure have emerged as a rapidly evolving field in neurology and neurosurgery. Advances in imaging techniques, interventional procedures and surgical strategies have significantly improved our ability to diagnose and treat these conditions.
However, optimal management requires close collaboration between multiple specialties, including neurology, neuroradiology, neurosurgery, neurointervention and pain medicine.
This symposium has been designed as a multidisciplinary forum where international experts can share their experience, discuss complex cases and explore future directions in research and clinical care.
The meeting is also part of the development of the CSF Hemodynamic Disorders Program, an initiative aimed at strengthening multidisciplinary collaboration, research and clinical expertise in the field of CSF pressure disorders.
We hope this symposium will serve as a platform for scientific exchange and for strengthening international collaboration in this important field.
Dr. Claudio Rodríguez Fernández
Disorders of cerebrospinal fluid dynamics, particularly spontaneous intracranial hypotension (SIH), are increasingly recognized as an important cause of neurological morbidity. Despite recent advances, these conditions remain frequently underdiagnosed and require specialized multidisciplinary expertise.
The International Symposium on Spontaneous Intracranial Hypotension and CSF Dynamics will bring together leading international experts to discuss the latest developments in:
• Clinical diagnosis of CSF pressure disorders
• Advanced neuroimaging techniques for CSF leaks
• Epidural, interventional and surgical treatment strategies
• Complex case management
• Emerging research and collaborative networks
Through keynote lectures, case-based discussions and expert panels, the meeting will provide an integrated perspective on the diagnosis and treatment of these challenging conditions.
